Our Team

Dr. Kevin Loopeker, OD, FOVDR
Director of Optometric Services & Sport Vision

The inception of Dr. Loopeker’s optometric career began when as an Honours Physiology student he stumbled upon a Sport Vision textbook at the UBC Biomedical Library. Upon graduation with his doctorate in Optometry, Dr. Loopeker continued his studies in NYC completing a residency in Vision Therapy and  Rehabilitation. He then spent several more years training to earn a fellowship with the Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association. Over the expanse of his 20+ year career Dr. Loopeker has spent years working with children and vision-related learning difficulties, athletes and high performance individuals in sport vision and executive health, and most recently and profoundly in brain injury rehabilitation. His entire education and career has been dedicated to this area of functional vision care. Each day Dr. Loopeker brings his clinical experience and knowledge working with patients in assessment and therapy at Vision & OpticNeuro Care.

Susan Boss
Vision Therapist

Susan has had a long career in vision care and comes with more than 20 years of experience supporting patients as an Optician. She has spent more than 15 years working directly with Dr. Loopeker, most recently, at Fortius Sport & Health and Vision & OpticNeuro Care. Susan is passionate about her role in supporting patients as they rediscover their visual skills and learn how to re-integrate them into their daily lives. Susan’s empathetic and caring nature is exemplified through every patient encounter as she works directly with Dr. Loopeker to implement the visual skills training techniques prescribed for each patient.

Rachelle Liegmann, M.Ed, RCC
Director of Clinical Services

Rachelle has a distinguished career in helping people through various difficult times in their lives.  She has worked as a Social Worker, Educator and Registered Clinical Counsellor.  She is often the first connection to our clinic and will take the time to discover how we can best support each patient. Rachelle will help determine the most effective way to move new patients through assessment and be available to answer questions, further explain our clinic protocols, or liase with Dr. Loopeker directly.

Our Integrity

  • We are purposeful in accepting patients into our clinic whom we think we can help. We will be upfront and truthful when we believe otherwise.
  • We prioritize every individual’s time, energy and resources and do our best to provide the utmost patient care while ensuring that each person is offered realistic expectations of potential outcomes. The best interests of every patient is at the forefront of our practice even if it means referring to an alternative practitioner when we feel they may be of greater value.
