What to Expect in Terms of Assessment
Our assessments are customizable based upon the individual needs of our patients; however, the most common examinations we are offer are:
OpticNeuro Vision Screening (ONVS)
- Our most common exploratory assessment
- This is a one-hour screening designed to be the initial entry-level appointment to our clinic to determine whether the patient is an ideal candidate for more extensive vision testing and treatment
- Includes case history, ocular alignment, oculomotor, convergence, egocentric spatial localization, vestibular and balance testing
- Preceded with a phone call interview and review of an extensive case history questionnaire prior the appointment
- Helps to identify and determine the direction, focus and time required for subsequent testing, including the ONVE
OpticNeuro Vision Exam (ONVE)
- Our most common extensive assessment
- This is a two-hour exam designed to intensively examine the visual and vestibular systems under stress
- Includes ocular alignment, convergence, fusion testing, oculomotor, refraction, visual analytical, accommodation, egocentric spatial localization, pupils, visual fields, static balance, yoked prism, light sensitivity and ocular health testing
- The ONVS & ONVE combination is our most comprehensive assessment format and is ideal for complex patients
- Our clinic will contact and work with your patient to determine the best assessment to meet their individual needs
